Sean Boyd
DoP and Lighting Cameraman
In The Frame Productions is owned and operated by Sean Boyd, a Sydney-based DoP and Lighting Cameraman.
Sean Boyd began his television career in 2001 as a camera assistant at Channel 7's Epping Studios in Sydney, where he developed a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of both live and pre-recorded television production. Working across programs including Sunrise, Today Tonight and Sydney Weekender, he learned from some of Australia's most experienced broadcast professionals before joining Channel 10's Field Production Unit.
At Channel 10, Sean refined his shooting style across a broad range of productions including Video Hits, RPM, The Project and Totally Wild, building the versatility and technical confidence that would shape his career as a Director of Photography.
In 2011, Sean travelled to London to work on the Royal Wedding. What began as a single international project became a seven-year chapter in the UK, where he founded Reel Motion Media , producing high-end sports promos, branded content and corporate films. During this time he earned a reputation as a trusted and highly skilled Director of Photography, working with organisations including the Premier League, UEFA, IMG, BBC, Storyman and Goldman Sachs.
Returning to Australia in 2018 with his young family, Sean founded In The Frame Productions, continuing to work with leading broadcasters, global brands and sporting organisations.
Alongside his production work, Sean is the founder of CLAY, where he helps Videographers, communications teams and organisations elevate the quality of their video through practical, real-world training. Drawing on more than 25 years of industry experience, he teaches the same techniques he continues to apply on some of the world's biggest productions, helping teams create more engaging, professional and visually compelling content.
